Unfortunately “lowering the company’s cost structure” will undoubtedly mean ejecting all remaining resources and capability associated with Meego/Symbian, effectively ending and hope of a dual OS strategy being adopted.
Also, since the N9 still out-guns the Lumia models, it’s impossible to see Elop allowing the N9 to go on worldwide release, despite the urgent need to drum up sales revenues.
In short, the ratings agencies are now telling Elop what the bloggers have been saying for 12 months; but it’s now too late to pull out of the kamikaze nose dive Elop has embarked on.

Just today a neighbor girl, who is not technical oriented, ordered a N9 magenta after having take a look at my own N9. I warned that this is already a piece of collection, but he reply that this will be the case anyway in a few months regardless of the model. He want a Nokia but “definitively not a Windows system as I have already enough problem with it on my PC”. She is lucky that Orange Switzerland still have the N9 magenta.

This news makes me very sad! I always said WP7 will be the death of Nokia!

Logical step in the planned “WP only” dead.

Fire Elop, promote Meego and set a hackers contest to ship as fast as possible an Android handset with the Swipe interface. Finally if Microsoft don’t allow immediate integration of Qt, cancel this poisoned OS.
