Well, I doubt these things would sell in numbers even in a good economy. My ex-boss whom I still meet on occasion once saw an ad for these and called it preposterous. He’s pretty darn rich (drives a Bentley), but said he wouldn’t ever justify paying that much for a disposable item like a mobile phone.

I see these things as more for the Paris Hilton types.

With LG having just dumped their plans for any more Windows Phones, due to low volume and none existent margins, the Nokia Board need to wake up to the reality of their situation.
This is NOT a transition year, that was back in 2011.
The WP Lumia’s are not selling, meanwhile their Symbian range is now dead.
The future is bright for Nokia; the future is Meego !
Re-launch the N9 worldwide…NOW.

Personally I find this cell phone striking and classy. It is a nice change from all the smartphone look a-alikes. I would hope that Nokia would hold strong push this well needed change forward. I’m utterly bored to death with all the recent cell phones that come out with nothing new about them. Be creative guys, push the envolope and take a chance, you just may be pleasantly surprised.

Depends on the markup between price and production costs. They would just need to a nice enough markup and nail a section of the 1%-ers…
