Your easy to please. I like apple as I have an iPod touch 4G. I would not have an I phone as I like flexibility and Apple don’t give you that on your mobile. I have always had Nokia and beside there is an upside to all this the longer I wait for Nokia to get it right I won’t rush in to a mobile upgrade so fast.

I think WP7 feels BETA, and I think it will always feel that way. Microsoft OS is too inflexible and locked. It will be multitasking, but that’s not full multitasking. Microsoft that is not full multitasking.

Microsoft you have been with for 15 years. 1.0 2.0 3.0 4.0 5.0 6.0 6.5 7.0 KIN WP7. You will FAIL.

Show us the sales figures Microsoft. and not on the devices that are on the shelves collecting dust

But we all know the performance of a browser can change with a factor of 10 with a single generation.

IE7 is currently used on these WP7 phones and it’s no great market leader.
Whereas Blackberry Torch is using a brand new (as in sparkling new) webkit engine with optimisations from Torch (the company they bought).

It should be a little more fair when IE9 rolls out for WP7 in Mango later this year.

Yeah unfortunately Maemo was left as an experiment by Nokia. They should have taken it forward but, like most their experiments, they scrapped it.

It wasn’t marketed and it was treated as a developer or geek device. This is why it had no ring to it.

The same will now happen to Meego but this was entirely up to Nokia.

I have seen more faulty iPhone 4 than ever here in Oz. I work for a big Telco in Oz. I can tell you that Windows Phone 7 is not flop at all. Once the iPhone iTarts realise the difference of how much better the social networking integration is on WP7, they make the switch pretty fast. Ms has started slow on Wp7 but a positive start. Even my mates who loves anything from Apple, have amazingly dropped iPhone for WP7. They just love it.

FYI blackberry torch has a 624 mhz marvell cpu. WP7 phones use 1 ghz snapdragons.

According to the latest benchmarks, the 3 WP7 phones (HTC Surround, LG Optimus 7 and the Samsung Focus) are at the bottom behind the original Droid and even the Blackberry Torch! I’m sorry but WP7 isn’t going anywhere.

I agree with what you said before that Nokia needs to do more than just choose the right OS. They only needed to produce a couple of phones which didn’t suck, but it’s too late now.

Is this what Nokia has really sucome to cheap mobiles just to sell W7 if it goes ahead. Won’t doing this convay the wrong messege “saying that W7 is only for low end spec and mid range smart phones and not the flagship handsets its intended for. Nokia needs to impress. The N8 is good, 12 MP camera and 720p HD record, other than that the Symbian OS is so dated it lets it down and 720p is no longer a novelty anymore. So Nokia need to act fast. I like the word cheap but not in this context, and W7 will remain to be seen.

First you said Meego won’t do well because it’s ‘Lynux’ (Linux) based. But you failed to realise that Android is also ‘Lynux’ based.

Thanks OS is not all. Nokia need to get there act together. They used to be ahead in the mobile phone world latest technology and all. Then they Launched the N95 in 2007 and the quote was “Its what computers have become” and then it all started to go down hill from there on.

If I may ask what OS are you running on your mobile? I’m running Symbian ^3 obviously. Android seem to be the choice of Samsung, LG, HTC and Motorola so something must be right. MeeGo and Maemo just don’t have that ring some how to be an OS. Neither does Barda Samsungs own OS which is currently running on the Wave.

It “did not do to well on netbooks” because MS was practically giving Windows for free. Without any monetary incentive, people picked what was more familiar. The lack of market success has nothing to do with the capabilities of the OS. But that is too much for an “idyot” to comprehend.

Ok give Windows a chance but from what I’ve seen in the past windows mobile as never really gone any where. And what was Nokia’s Maemo all about. Frankly I’m glad they decided to ditch MeeGo. Why? It is Lynux based and that did not do to well on netbooks. I’ve been a Nokia user now for 12 year and I must say not everything has been to my liking. If Nokia want to start wining back the favour of the public again they will need to do more than choose the right OS.

I wonder how long MS will update 1st gen handsets. I think dual core support would come with 2nd update later this year and soon dual core would be mandatary. Maybe 1st gens could not get 3rd update.

Come on, it is not like Windows hasn’t been put on both low cost netbook or multi-grand game pcs before. Microsoft is just a software maker and can you say no, we don’t support your hardware to a hardware maker you just invested billions of dollars in?
Unlike Android or Apple, Windows Phone 7 is more modular and should be more easily to customize to hardware’s needs.
