I am sure all the developers that develop for Nokia would agree. First C++ Symbian, then QT, QML, then throw all away for developing on Windows Phone (that, by the way, did not sell before and does not sell now with Nokia).
And on the lower end, now instead of J2ME on Series 40, another OS change. I do not understand how Elop can be take seriously.

Smart people hedge. Dumb people gamble. Crooked people steal. You decide which category Elop falls in.

I can't believe that Nokia shareholders are ok with Elop after he gave everything away and still flopped in Europe. Did you know they gave their mobile patents to MS AND committed their entire company to WP7 AND laid software people off AND only got a couple billion in return? Moto was worth $12bil for patents, and Nokia has better patents. He might have doubled that if he had just left the cell phone market immediately, instead of this disastrously one-sided partnership.

His statements aren't even true. It's not the best Nokia could do, because MS wouldn't even change their hardware requirements for Nokia. None of the WP7 phones use the latest hardware, because MS is behind on their OS.

Utter bullshit. Nokia themselves are using many different platforms even as we speak and failing on all fronts. This is the one they're betting on now naturally with Microsoft's hefty support, but you won't be seeing any cheap WP7 phones any time soon.

Smacks of desperation, especially since his two flagship WP7 devices are a ripoff of the MeeGo phone design.

Elop...pfff...whatever.

BTW, I guess MS is hedging their bet by having more than one manufacturer, eh?
