I have android phone (sgs) and after a year of usage I hate it.I want to back nokia, especially there is swype keyboard. I’v seen 700 and I like it. I’m waiting for N8 successor, but 700 would be good replacement until N8 successor will be available in my country. Best regards.

My new nokia 700 fell down once, the glass broke. The cost of the repairing is nearly the same as a new phone, because you have to buy the LCD panel too.I wouldn’t buy it again.

You have stated the size it’s biggest advantage and, at same time, disadvantage. I had Nokia 5530 since 2009 and could not find any better phone to replace it. Yeah newer Androids had more to offer but i couldn’t stand a bulky phones, a size of a small book. Girls have smaller hands, what can I say…

So i fell in love with this 700 the minute i saw it in the store. I didn’t even need to read specs! After using it, i haven’t disapointed about it one bit :)

The thing which this reviewer (and most others) fail to mention is that a virtual Alpha-Numeric keypad is available in Portrait mode for messaging (SMS and Email. The key size is perfect for people like me with fat thumbs. The Nokia 700 is an excellent handset.

Why don’t you have N8 then. It has probably the best camera in any smart phone, will have Symbian Belle on it in couple of weeks and you get it for less than $100 more than 700.

I just bought one for my wife. It’s a gem, especially for a woman who doesn’t want a hefty gadget. I’ve also dumped my HTC Desire Z in favour of Nokia E6. Sick of seeing the battery run dry after taking notes in a meeting.

I think the opposite.

Excellent value for money, responsive UI, lots of features, solid hardware quality, great screens, free and excellent GPS.

Any Android you buy in this price range would be a joke in comparison. Even if there are more apps and even if you were inclined to buy them (most people aren’t) you can barely run them on the Androids in this price range.

And Symbian DOES have apps. All the ones that the kind of people who would buy this would be interested in anyway.

This is simply is of great quality at an excellent price. Compare with Wildfire S:

1Ghz vs 600mhz + Native Code vs Interpreted Code (worth at least another 200mhz)

640×480 CBD easily beats the cheap LCD 320 x 480 in the wildfire.

Pentaband radio, nfc, the list just goes on and on and on.

You would have to be f*ing crazy to pass one of these up for an Android if that is your price range. Even if it cost more it is still better value as you know it will last for years being a Nokia.

One last thing, you know the battery life will just be superb.

In this price range at least, Nokia owns. You simply cannot argue there is something better out there for this price.

Funny how many of us said this was all Symbian needed, a clean new UI, and repeatedly stated that that is exactly what Nokia had in the pipeline with this new QT interface. Yet we just got shouted down with , Symbian sucks, die symbian, kill it etc etc. Now Nokia have bowed to the pressure from the blogs that destroyed its image and jumped ship to an actual sinking one. Throwing this overboard cofirming we were right all along, but it is a bitter victory because now it truly is dead. Well done Slashgear,Engadget,Gizmodo etc you killed Nokia.

Pretty good review. Honestly, if the N9 doesn’t become easier to get a hold of, I’m going back to Symbian. Every review seems to speak highly of Belle and the NFC is just another great thing to have. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nokia’s WP push didn’t pan out and all the developing countries’ purchases of Symbian phones keeps it around longer than expected.
