I absolutely don’t see the reason for a 3G model as most smart phones are capable of becoming a personal hot-spot, hence making this a totally useless requirement. Also I do travel extensively and there seems to be loads of free or low cost hot-spots available all over now.

Huge mistake Asus, huge. Here is a news flash to all Tech Companies. We, the consumers that buy your products, don’t like dongles, or “second boxes”. We really, really don’t like it. If I buy a tablet, I DO NOT want to have to lug around a 3G MiFi, with charger, just to use on the tablet that should have it built in.

Put the damn radio in, Asus. If Nokia can put out an entire low end S40 cell with a Pentaband radio and sell it unlocked for 50 bucks, you sure as hell could have integrated 3G into the Transformer Prime from the get-go.

This is not just about 3G demand coming from Germany. We all would love this feature. My separated data SIM is already waiting for full-featured tablet (I got 2 SIMs from T-Mobile, which share the data plan – 1st is in my phone and is used to both voice services and internet, 2nd one can be used in separated device like tablet with 3G). No problem even here in Slovakia (eastern Europe), not even expensive. So I would like to know, where are the contries with limited data networks?? Is it really such portion?? I seriously doubt.

Yes, for everybody (even eastern Europe here) missing built-in 3G is the decisive feature, why we not buy.

Sigh, I really like the Prime’s specs but definitely need a 3G option here in Germany. I cannot rely on having a hot spot nearby and setting one up via my phone would be both, inconvenient and energy draining.

No 3G? U must be kidding… Not all countries have wifi for free, especially in Asia or a sean.
Need to remember the buying power for this kind of gadget come from Asia countries.

Are they really this stupid? Why would most europeans who buuy these kinds of gadgets even consider spendning money on one that can’t support 3G?!! It’s a tablet meant for mobility and internet access – that’s the whole point of it. I would love to buy it, but I won’t waste my money if I have to have a separate bulky 3G-modem.

No buy.

Can we please get rid of the belief that the telcos subsidizes any thing? The only spread out the payment like any other company that sells on down payment terms for a solid interest rate.

Key feature would be *cheaper*. Android tablets are still too expensive right now.
