Considering the major carriers are going to roll out isis, it remains to be seen if google wallet will be viable in the future or if things will boil down to one nfc format becoming the predominant player (like vhs killed betamax, bluray beat hd-dvd etc)

Well put. The average user is, by and large, indifferent to the products they use and will use the one within easy reach. I don’t see, however, why ANYONE would want to use NFC for payments. The security questions, at this point, are massive.

I can attest the APK works and is super easy to install. Had breakfast on Google yesterday morning. After installing Google Wallet, you can install the Mastercard PayPass Locator app to find locations that accept the NFC payment.

ii is true that verizon will come with their own garbage,
but it is not true that in the end ’people’ will use whatever they want, people use what is there installed, if not look at the shitty product people use as IE, or bing search, because ‘is there’.

Currently the Nexus S 4G is the only NFC packing smartphone with the out of the box Google Wallet feature.
