The idea and usage of the new “tablets” (maybe a “smartpad” is better term) is very different from the classic notebooks, so the technical details and prices too. It’s not just a notebook without keyboard (it was the failed to be popular concept of TabletPC from 2002/3)

Even with screen protectors, I wonder what physical state some of the screens on tablet devices will look like after a few hundred thousand characters have been scrawled out.
