I’m on my ipad right now with my iPhone 4 sim card using my unlimited data plan. Maybe do a little more research before calling people out. Idiot!

Just put the iPhone 4 sim card or cut sim card into the ipad then go to this site and follow the instructions. Unlockit.co.nz. Pretty self explanatory.

The iPhone AND the iPad BOTH use the microSIM card format.

So cutting a mini-SIM to micro-SIM card size has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS ISSUE AS BOTH PRODUCTS USE MICRO…. Get it?

And the micro-SIM card from one device CANNOT be used on the other device. Why ask questions about going from iPad to iPhone or iPhone to iPad?

YOU CAN’T switch cards. Plain. Simple. Done.

I guess no matter now, we can still make our own microsim from our existing simcard. I found a youtube video that gives tutorial on making own microsim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B0G_qjebJY). you can then get a microsim adapter to convert it back to normal Sim card.

I’m sorry Chris but how does Apple’s telling us that we can’t swap sims confirm that it’s true? They have said we can’t use prepaid sims, can’t use video on the 3g, can’t tether, the list goes on and on. People over at modmyi have nearly always found ways to do what apple says ‘just isn’t possible’.

Also what’s with the random iphone video? I watched it thinking someone was going to attempt a sim card swap.

it means that your ipad sim wont work in iphone 4(because the ipad is just a data plan and nothing else like calling or text, and to my knowledge if you have a ipad data plan you dont have a number), but if you have a iphone 4 micro sim you can put it in your ipad and it will work, or if you cut your sim to a micro sim you can also transfer, hope this helps.

I know this article says that the iPad SIM won’t work in an iPhone4, but, what about the other way around? I upgraded my 3GS with unlimited Data to a new iPhone 4 with Grandfathered unlimited data. Can I take the iPhone’s SIM and put it in a 3G iPad and have it work? i’m sure we won’t really know any of this until the iPhone 4 is actually in people’s hands.

Going by Apple’s answer, the iPad microSIM won’t work if put into the iPhone 4. We’ll have to wait until we have the iPhone 4 on hand to actually test that out for sure.

This means that microSIM card that worked with an iPad, won’t work with iphone 4?
Or it’s just that one microSIM card can’t work with both, it can work only with one device? I hope you understood what i asked..
