Yeah I think the Wii sold primarily because of lower price-point and gimmick-appeal. It’s a terrible system compared to PS3 and 360 and its games reflect that (with a few notable exceptions). I have to think that played a part in Nintendo’s current problem; not solely the DS.

I hear you man. These news/blog sites have zero standards. The writers are held accountable, and are generally amateur. They can get away with whatever they print because they are a “blog” site but receive all the privileges and rights of press. Don’t get me wrong not all news stations and papers are quality but at least it is well known who the real ones are and who are bordering on being a tabloid. The Internet let’s any computer savy jack ass have a go at it. Indigestion from digital consumption…

Buddy do your research. Mario sells more thane madden warfare by a large margin. New super Mario brothers wii and ds both sell substantially higher than modern warfare. It’s one of the best selling franchises in history and it’s assests alone are worth more than some big name publishers out there. It has been more popular than modern warfare for nearly 3 decades…it’s simple math…

Just look at Super Mario Bros. It’s a niche game, and you can’t put a lot of financial expectations on it. It’s not going to sell like Modern Warfare 3, period. I don’t necessarily like MW3, but that seems to be the modern top seller. Nintendo needs to shift gears and get into the modern era of gaming, because they’re still living in the 1980′s as far as game concepts are concerned.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the DS. It’s all about the primary console. The wii doesn’t compare to the XBOX360 or the PS3 (or even the PC) in features, hardware or available games. The only people who find the wii suitable are those who don’t know how to play (or can’t play) the popular games. They’re almost all kids games. The ones that are not don’t have the hardware platform available to do well.
