Nintendo DS sold 10M units in UK since launch

Nintendo may finally be feeling the pinch of the poor economy with Wii sales plummeting and production cut backs, but the gaming company has sold lots of consoles. Nintendo has one of the most popular mobile game consoles around with its DS line.

New figures have been released that show the Nintendo DS has sold a whopping 10 million units in the UK since the console debuted there in March of 2005. The console reached the milestone faster than the PS2 from Sony according to Nintendo.

Nintendo figures the sales numbers mean that 1-in-6 people in the UK have a DS console. The number may not be quite that high, I bet many are like my son and own more than one console. Still, Nintendo has sold a lot of DS consoles.
