When I think about the shortcomings of the Nintendo Wii, there are really two that stand out. First, the way they’ve handled their online play is sub-par. The whole friends code just really doesn’t cut it in this day and age. The other problem is the lack of internal storage. Sure, you can pop in an SD card, but that isn’t a good enough solution for most game designers to take advantage of. Thankfully Nintendo may be looking into a solution for the latter issue.

Apparently Nintendo has noticed that a small number of customers aren’t happy with the current SD card as a storage solution, so they are looking into their options. The official quote from Nintendo President Satoru Iwata is below.

Statistically speaking, it is true that there are a small number of customers who feel that the flash memory is too small, while many others find that they have plenty of memory” adding, “However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience.
