If you’re an aspiring game-maker, and have longed for the day that one of your creations would end up on one of the major consoles for all the world to play, you’re in luck. Nintendo has just announced a new service for the Wii that will allow you to achieve your dream.

The new service is called WiiWare, it is a “game-creation service that will allow developers large and small to create new downloadable video game content.” We’re not very clear on all of the details, but Nintendo has stated that the games will be checked for bugs. The independent developers will be responsible for securing an ESRB rating.

The games will be put up on the Wii Shop channel for a price that will be determined by Nintendo when you submit your game. Look for WiiWare to debut sometime early next year.
