What was the wholesale price in the US? I can’t find that information anywhere

You do realise that companies claim VAT back so you don’t build that in to the price.

We don’t know for sure whether the price is inclusive of VAT or not. It more than likely is inc. £173 would be equal to a unit price of £144.17, with £28.83 VAT.

£144 is much more in line with an estimated US unit cost.

Whatever the case I am sure we will find out when Tesco et al get involved. They’re much more able, and likely to sell the unit with the lowest overhead just to get people in store.

VAT tax is 20%.

If wholesale price is £173, then resellers make only £5 profit per 3DS selling it at £229.

Ergo, the wholesale price is likely a bunch lower than that.
