My son and I have had over 20 ds systems of all generations and the same amount of psp's. We have been playing our PSP Vita's for the past 6 days and can not put them down. The Sony PSP Vita system makes the 3ds look like an 8 track tape from jump street ! If your under the age of 9, go with the 3ds. Sony has been the innovator titan for over 50 years and the Psp Vita is the new kid on the block. Way to go Sony !

Am quite surprise....NOT..... I knew the 3ds will do very well from the beginning. And it's business wise to develop games for the system that are in the public more. GET N OR GET OUT.

Nintendo must love the fact Sony released a 2nd generation portable as it has taken so much of the doom and gloom surrounding the 3ds away from them.

Sony's Vita is a cool piece of kit but people who buy portable consoles want a different experience than they get at home. At the same price as a ps3 the vita is completly targeted wrongly. Sony need to get companies like PopCap and Zynga to make some games for it and maybe its sales will improve.

As for claims that the 3ds is a kids consoles and the vita is for hardcore players, the 3ds has MGS3, Res Evil and many more on the way as well as Nintendo's own 1st and 2nd party stuff. The strange thing is that Nintendo have sold nearly 15 million 3ds world wide without a Pokemon or Brain training as of yet. Can you imagine what will happen when they do release such titles?

Sony didn'y fail with the PSP (with the exception of PSPGo and the E1000) as 90 million units sold is nearly three time that of any other (non Nintendo) handheld console. They did how everthe later versions of the machines and failed to support it with the killer titles that would have set software sales on fire.

Lessons still don't seem to be learnt yet but give Sony time and maybe they can bring something that will make the most of Vita and will only be released on Vita. Is it too much to ask that Sony get something to answer Nintendo's Zelda, Mario and Metroid series? I know they have Little Big Planet and Uncharted, and while Little Big Planet could be the answer to the Vita's issues as they can really play with the power of the system there is still no news on a new portable game from the franchise.

Developers moving focus means nothing unless it ends up doing to Sony what it did to Sega in the mid Ninties. The last thing everyone wants is Sony to be the only ones making games for their systems as the thing that made the PSOne and PS2 so popular was the amount of 3rd party support they recieved. Again the same can be said of the Sega Mega Drive in the early Ninties.

I personally like the fact there is two handhelds out there as well as 3 home consoles. Variety is the way to the evoulotion of video games. Without Mario there would be no Sonic, with out the Donkey Kong there would be no Mario. The past shows that when someone tries to better what is already there others try to improve on what they have done. We need Vita and the 3DS to work to stop every single portable gaming experience being Bejeweled and Angry Birds.

I'm very skeptical about 3D technology but after owning the 3DS and play a bunch of game it completely blow my mind. You can see my brain all over the wall too. Just wish the screen and buttons are a little bit bigger. Still hated the fact that it's hard too play with a small screen.

This has already been proven to be false, the Nikkei article in question was a translated opinion piece. So in other words, no, it's not like all the devs are suddenly jumping ship on the Vita and migrating to the 3DS. Things like that just don't happen. LOL
