You need to do some fact checking!!!

Resolution: 36.6 MP (NOT 32)
Price: $2,999 D800 | $3,299 D800E (NOT $3,999)

You took away over 4 million pixels and tacked on $1,000 to the price tag. You must be a Canon rep!!!

@33a29bf69bd2092ce7f9d64e543d9312:disqus 2fps slower? YEP, but massive resolution difference.@someinternetdude:disqus You posted to tell us that?
@81982538543a378169706e786272afa1:disqus Wait for the 5d mark 3 if you want. What will you do with your lenses?
@just_humble:twitter Wow, paying attention much? Remember that Nikon have usually been behind Canon in the pixel race, because they focus on QUALITY of image. Now, this camera only does 4/5fps Because they don't expect you will be shooting fast for one, and when you do landscape, no need for high ISO right? Get the D4 if you want HIGH ISO and fast shutter.
@facebook-1333623976:disqus You get that with d700 but you don't get video there or HDMI RAW video out, or high resolution etc....

Seriously, some of you don't really look into anything much. You just comment from mums basement.

if you're going to shoot sports, just go with the D4 then. i used to have the D700, you can only get > 5fps using optional battery. and even at 5fps it was enough for the occasional action shots. but honestly, how often do you shoot in burst? and do you really need more than 4fps unless you're covering an NBA or NFL game?

32 MP and slower than its predecessor?
Is Nikon brains driven jus' on Mega Pixels syndrome?
Slash the price..
Serious buyer would hardly look for the Megapixels...
And that too if 32 MP is cramped into an FX sized sensor, it can be bad as well....

36 MP is around medium format specs but 4 fps is a lot faster. This is a specialty camera and is overkill in MP and underwhelming for sports and action type of photography. It has it's place in a studio environment and is a hell of a lot cheaper than other 36 MP range cameras. I wonder what the dynamic range is for this sensor which was the biggest problem with packing in all those pixels on such a small format.
