I cannot believe how many people on these sites are bitching about the cost of the new nikon or the canon. It is a specialized camera , as is the new canon, that only the people that have a job using these cameras (sports etc…) where they need these insane frame rates, are going to buy them. They themselves do not even have to buy the cameras, the corporations that they work for do. Or if they do have to purchase these cameras they just write them off. So who cares what nikon or canon charge for these ,YOU will not be using them!

Why is the D800 sitting fourth in the line up of cameras? I’m assuming the image is on order of D4, D3, D700?…why is there a camera between the D800 and D3 if it’s such a big deal? If they were going to cause a frenzy, why not picture it next to the big guns…to me that looks like the D700, D300 and D200 sitting in a line….

Or maybe it is you that needs a doctor appointment? How can you honestly feel that the D4 is worth 6k versus the D3s? I am still awaiting the real field test results but still…that is ridiculous. If Nikon doesn’t release a D700s with increased low light abilities then I am done with them. 95% photographers don’t NEED 36mp?! It shall be interesting to see how the noise is controlled on that sensor.

As you may have heard on the internet pixels aren’t everything, the D4 has amazing ISO capabilities that blow away any Canon.

Really? Are you really bringing up the MP argument? Nikon (allegedly) is also bringing out a 36 MP D800 for less, but the features will not be near what the D4 has. Paying for MP and basing your opinion on a camera based on the MP count is ridiculous.

Nikon’s pulling a money grab at $6,000 for 16megapixels! Feels like robbery. Who would fork out 6k for 16mp?? Ignore the specs as most manufacturers can give you all that for 20% of the price. Only a fool would believe the marketing hype.

LOL – I have been shooting professionally with Nikon gear for the last 6 years and the only problems I have had with my gear were all self inflicted. It’s all scratched up, dusty, been sprayed with everything from water and beer to fake blood. Wipe it off, power it up and it’s good to go. I must have put a million shutter pulls on each of my camera bodies without a major issue that wasn’t resolved with a cleaning. I would love to play with one of these but it costs as much as a car and just isn’t in my budget.

been pro photographer over 20 years, have both top of the line Nikon and Canon cameras. I highly recommend Nikon before any other brand.

Could not agree LESS. Buy NIKON. Just bought a Canon DSLR/Lens and the auto focus motor froze within 1 week. NEVER had that problem with NIKON!!

Do not buy Nikon. Anything but a Nikon. They used to make a good product but now their Quality is substandard.
