Well, let’s say you’re traveling outside the US. The chances of your phone working aren’t that good. So then bringing a camera makes sense. Or if you have kids, then I also don’t think you’ll be satisfied with a camera phone picture if you have a choice.

i foresee a camera that will require a massive battery just to run the OS let alone the camera hardware, flash, mechanisms for lens movement, shutter, focus, etc. I putting dibs on 2 hour battery life… I do not know how much a battery lasts with a regular point/shoot but it can’t be that high if you’re taking many many shots. perhaps it will show purpose when … I got nothing. If you have free wifi tethering through your phone and… still nothing… cargo pants will come back in style, yeah – skinny cargo pants…LOL

The first “quick response” picture with the girl should be replaced with a blank screen as a lot of people would forget and just leave their camera at home.

the smartphone is like a pac man with an endless appetite. it’s is eating into the camera market, the mp3 market, the computer market, and it will devour this too

So now we are expected to have a cell phone in one pocket and this camera in the other? I don’t see much of an advantage.
