Looking to get your hands on something different from the digital camera world? You won’t have to wait much longer. The Nikon Coolpix S60 is all set to be released in September and will feature a 3.5” LCD display with touch capabilities.

The graphical interface makes selecting options easier and significantly cleans up the camera’s surface, leaving only two physical buttons—power and shutter—that you’ll have to fiddle with. Plus, with just a touch you can “lock” autofocus on your subject of choice by touching its image on the screen. You can swipe through photos you’ve taken as well. Hmm, I feel like I’ve heard of that before.
Other features include 10-megapixel sensor, Optical VR Image Stabilization and a 5x Zoom-NIKKOR lens. So how much will something like this set you back? Try $349.95 on for size.

Kodak has had a similar product out for about half a year: the v1073 (10MP) and v1273 (12MP). Both of these use touchscreens, and allow for the user to swipe through the pictures. I actually own a v1073 myself and am very happy with it. The picture quality is very good for such a compact camera, and it is so easy to use that I can hold the camera with one hand and switch between different shooting modes and settings with the same hand.
