The &quot;smartphone&quot; moniker was always an excuse for shoddy, defective operating systems and inept designs.  Palm OS devices typically had 8 MB of storage, yet could handle all of your contacts and calendar appointments with no problem.  Not to mention third-party applications.  Years later we had 32MB phones that didn&#039;t even have fields for addresses in their contact lists.  &quot;Oh, you need a SMARTPHONE for that,&quot; was the excuse that you&#039;d hear.

BS.  That&#039;s why Apple predictably waded into the market and took it over simply by delivering something that didn&#039;t suck.  That&#039;s also why sales numbers don&#039;t prove that something is good: Millions upon millions of cell phones were sold with these pathetic OSes and UIs.]]></description>
