He didn’t say he wants Touchwiz on it. He said he was hoping the Nexus phone incorporates the Galaxy name into it.

Have you used the new Touchwiz? It’s really good now, nothing like the previous versions. Better than Sense for sure.

Well it almost certainly won’t have physical buttons, so factor that in. The screen size is measured diagonally, so the extra strip at the bottom of current androids will just be more screen! It’ll probably have the form factor of a ~4.2-4.3″ phone.

The Nexus S was not only on Sprint. The Nexus S was available for 3, Hi, KPN, M1, O2, Orange, SFR, Singtel, Sprint, T-Mobile, Telfort, Telus, Videotron, Virgin Mobile, Vodafone.

no way. the one thing i hate about the galaxy line is they all have touchwiz. ill much rather this be a nexus instead of a galaxy becasue that also means updates straight from google.

The last I heard was that the name of this device was supposed to be “Galaxy Nexus” and not “Nexus Prime”.
Personally I like the “Nexus Prime” name though. Lets see what they settle for finally.

The screen will be the same size in all reality it will only effect media content and such because they took the hard buttons and such off the phone and just made the screen extend down a little so they could be on screen buttons which you could customize. This means that in most anything those buttons like the home button will still be there making the actual area you use the same size where as if you were in Netflix or something it would do something similar to using full screen mode on media content on a computer where the home button and such would disappear making the video show a bit bigger but when tapping the screen or something they would reappear to hit the home button or whatever else is there.

Doesn’t mean that it won’t be exclusive for a short time, I think it makes a hell of a lot more sense because the other carriers and Samsung would lose a lot of money releasing this right on top of the SG2 line which just got top smartphone of the year.

I think that its a timed exclusive meaning it will start on Verizon letting all of them have it for a while before everyone else, hence Verizon skipping out on the SG2. This makes sense as well because then other carriers won’t release this right on top of the SG2 and kill the profits on that where as Verizon doesn’t have to worry about this because they haven’t had a big Samsung release in a while. I think everyone on other carriers should look at it optimistically because it just lets Google and Samsung have time to get the bugs out for the other carriers, and it will release on the expected time when the Nexus S is a year old. (not that it will be that long to be released for them necessarily)

I’ll tell you what doesn’t happen with the curve instead of slamming the screen on the ground and cracking it you will hit the edges of the phone where the structure and support is and the phone will be less likely to break.

That is the dumbest thing I’ve read in a long time. VZW, biggest carrier in the us, them being exclusive would be a bad idea?

Weird that VZW wouldn’t get it because they didn’t carry the other two nexus phones? yet the nexus s was only on sprint, which did not carry the nexus . Seems like choosing VZW would be right on schedule.

And third, they passed on the galaxy s2 for something exclusive with Samsung. Why would they care about the iPhone “full support”they already carry it. More great selling phones the better for them.

Any more stupid statements?

The Nexus Prime is already in Verizon’s Cellebrite system, which is used used to transfer data from an old phone to a new one. It has been for weeks. There’s been more evidence beyond that supporting a VZW Prime. It may not be an exclusive, but it is most certainly coming to Verizon.

Highly doubtful of the VZ exclusive seeing as how they didn’t carry the Nexus One or the Nexus S, That would be a really odd and not too smart move on Google’s part. My guess is they passed on the Galaxy S2 in favor of full support for the iPhone 4S

I like this phone but will the curve design makes the entire phone structurally weak. It is strong at the convex side and weak at the concave side. At least it is made out of plastic. Is it practical to wait for the s3 instead of this? I’ve heard that it has a very mean camera.

can’t remember where I saw it, but there was a comparison to other phones, and because the lack of hard buttons, the total phone size is not much bigger than the 4.2 inch.
