Nexus One hacked ROMs promise tethering & multitouch

First comes the Nexus One, then come the hacked ROMs.  Arch-modder cyanogen is promising one of the first tweaked ROMs we've heard about, with the man himself saying it will add such niceties as WiFi and wired tethering and multitouch browsing.

It'll also throw in BusyBox, the so-called "Swiss Army Knife of embedded Linux", which should give other tinkerers more flexibility for playing with the Nexus One's underlying coding.  "A few other goodies" are also promised, though of course as with any hacked ROM you run the risk of bricking your smartphone during the install (and you shouldn't expect much sympathy from Google if you do so).  Still, with a little care you could have a far more functional device.
