Cheap for you doesn’t mean cheap for everybody, though. Not dissing your or anything, but some kid in one of the less affluent US cities might have used an entire year’s savings to get this.

Ifixit is a good resource, in my opinion. Hope they keep on keepin’ on.

Repair, shmepair. I want to rip out the stupid 8GB chip and put in 32 gigs. Or how bout grafting on a full size SD slot? Now that would be reason to crack the case and fire up the soldering iron. Come on geeks, prove your mettle!

Fall prey to the trend? this isn’t a trend, it’s been going on for a long long time. there’s nothing wrong with gluing the display to the glass. and on top of that that doesn’t necessarily mean they can never be separated. liquid nitrogen usually does it quite well

But beyond that, what does it matter? These things are cheap enough, I suspect it’d be far more sensible to just replace it when it breaks.

I believe the article is saying that the Nexus is very easy to open and service, unlike the iPad.

I can buy two of these for less than half of the price of one iPad. Who the hell cares if you cannot open it to service it, 99% of the people out there don’t service their own tablets and who cares about the company that would need too. They could probably just replace that plastic shell for a couple dollars. Horrible article, write about something that actually matters!
