Nexus 6 or Android Silver? LG doesn't seem to care

Recently, an LG executive commented on the state of their involvement with the Nexus program. Speaking to Dutch media, LG's Director of Communications Ken Hong noted they weren't involved with the next Nexus device "yet". He went on to note that LG typically has something on the table and in the works by now, as they have with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.

Hong also pontificates that he may have just been ignored by Google, or — more troubling to the Nexus fan — there may not be a Nexus 6. Android Silver has been shuffled around the rumor circuit lately, with many wondering if the program were taking the place of the Nexus platform.

Here's what we know about the Nexus 6, and/or Android Silver: nothing. Google hasn't (and won't until they're ready) announced plans for either, and it's unlikely an LG executive is going to admit to media at this point his company is making the Nexus 6 — if it is even going to exist.

Hong also noted that a Nexus device brings no profit, only notoriety. He seems to have made this comment after noting that if Google has found another OEM for their flagship, it wouldn't be that big a deal to him. Of course, this is translated information, so it's possible the message is getting a bit skewed.

Hong left it alone by hinting LG was ambivalent toward Google's intentions, and that they'd produce a Nexus device if Google wanted them to. If not, that was alright, too.

Or, you know, they could just take that amazing LG G3 and slap it into the Silver program along with all the other worthy handsets Google could base a Nexus device on.
