Cellphone Range Extender gets CrunchGear thumbs-up

Poor John.  Sat there chatting his with his chums on his Sidekick 3 on his way home from school, steps into his house and BAM, no signal and so no more coquettish girl-giggles about who's hot and who's not.  So I for one am thankful that he's found the Wi-Ex zBoost, a cellphone range booster that – unlike wire-threaded sticky labels – actually works.

Available in three different versions - 800 and 1900MHz models and one which supports both bands – and priced at $299.99 and $399.99 accordingly, John tried out the top-of-the-range unit and, after setting up its antenna (hooked up to the main unit via normal coaxial cable), enjoyed an extra three or four bars on his SK3.  Certainly enough to impress him, and enough to recommend it if you're suffering poor reception and missing those late-night "God he's SO hot" chats with your best friend.
