Nexus 4 LTE Bluetooth SIG suggests 5 is near

The LG-made Nexus 5 is right around the corner – more signs of the release of this device appear every day. Today's clue comes from the Bluetooth regulatory station showing off a Nexus 4 with 4G LTE connectivity – a device that's not existed on the market yet. This release – alongside the fact that the LG Nexus 5 has been teased more than a few times over the past few weeks – suggests a two-tiered smartphone release system for Google Play from here on out.

There's no need to replace the Nexus 4 already, right? It's still a fabulous smartphone, and it's more than ready to take on the biggest and best Android applications on the market today. And with devices like the Motorola Moto X doing well (or is it?) we'll likely see more devices released with processors that aren't the biggest and best of the day in the near future.

The same goes for the ASUS-made Nexus 7 2013. This device was expected to be released with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, or at least the Snapdragon 600, but instead the team at ASUS, Google, and Qualcomm pushed the Snapdragon S4 Pro which – close to the 600 as it may be – is still a rung below that of the 800 or NVIDIA's Tegra 4.

Rumor has it that the Nexus 5 – again, also made by LG – will be released with a 5-inch (or 4.95-inch, however specific as you'd like to get) display with 1080p resolution and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor inside. This device will have 4G LTE connectivity right out the gate and will almost certainly be released for a cool $349 while the Nexus 4 continues to be sold for either $50 or $100 cheaper a price at the same time.

Have a peek at the Nexus 5 timeline below to gain additional insight and stay tuned – this machine may be released just in time for (or right after, it's a bit more likely) Halloween for the candy-coated release of Android 4.4 Kitkat!
