New study shows HD-DVD players outselling Blu-ray 3:1 in Europe

According to a new study, Blu-ray is not faring well over in the European market. The study found that HD-DVD players are outselling their Blu-ray competitors 3:1.

Unfortunately, the figures are somewhat misleading since they, like other studies, don't take into account PS3 sales. The PS3 makes it very difficult to track sales figures because many people that own PS3s may not even use it to watch Blu-ray titles. While on the other hand, some people may buy one because it is a cheap Blu-ray player that also happens to play games.

It's great to look at all of these sales figures and think that one may be winning over the other, but I don't think that either one of them looks like it will be the clear winner any time soon.
