Seagate has launched a slurry of external hard drive devices today that are sure to capture the attention of those in need of some serious storage. Most notable, however, is the big one with 1.5TB of storage room!

The 1.5TB FreeAgent XTreme is a 3.5-inch, 7200RPM hard drive. It uses USB 2.0, eSATA or even FireWire 400. However, the eSATA is the best option (if you have it) as data transfers at 3GB a second. This device will be available in October for $300 along with three other sizes, the smallest of which is 500GB for $160.

Other HDDs were announced as well, including the 5400RPM, 2.5″ slim drives. They’re available in four different colors. There are even two Mac-ready drives so Disk Utility never has to open.

recertified seagate 500gb drives are just fine with me. I prefer new, though.
