New Mini Paceman gets up to 218hp turbo 4-cylinder

Mini has rolled out the latest of its updated models with the new Paceman making its debut. Mini is aiming the Paceman at the premium compact segment and calls the car a Sports Activity Coupe. Mini is also offering the Paceman with All4 AWD. The new Paceman will launch in July. Shoppers will have a new piano black color option to choose from for the car.

Mini is also offering optional reduced weight aerodynamic wheels, reduced rolling resistance tires, and along with the black color option, new Jungle Green and Midnight Grey metallic colors are available. Paceman will be offered in a Mini Cooper S Paceman model as well as a top of the line Mini John Cooper Works Paceman.

The John Cooper Works Paceman will get standard AWD and a 218hp 4-cylinder turbo engine. All of the Paceman models meet EU6 emissions rating requirements. The Mini Cooper S Paceman gets a 190 hp 4-cylinder with a standard 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed auto. The basic Paceman gets a 122hp 4-cylinder and a diesel version will be offered producing 143hp with other diesel engine options with 112hp on some models. It's unclear if that diesel version will come to the US.

Options for the Paceman include a sunroof, xenon headlights, LED fog lights, and parking lights that use LED. Navigation is optional along with a multifunction steering wheel and Harman Kardon sound. The car can also be had with a removable tow hitch with a 1200 kg rating. The John Cooper Works version of the Paceman will have additional options that aren't announced.
