New Kindle Fire HD 2 image leaks

Last week some details surfaced of new Kindle Fire tablets that are in the works, but haven't yet been announced. That link brought with it some hardware details. This week another image of the tablet has been leaked, and this time it's the front, not the back that we saw last week.

The photo appears to be an updated version of the Kindle Fire HD that is expected to launch later this year. Notably missing in the photograph is a front mounted camera, which would seemingly suggest a budget device. Typical high-end tablets have front cameras for video conferencing.

With specifications and images leaking of the coming tablet, Amazon is also reduced the price of the current tablets suggesting that they are attempting to clear stock of the existing models ahead of a new product launch. The specifications that surfaced last week suggest that the tablet will have a seven-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200.

The leak also suggests the tablet will run on a QUALCOMM Snapdragon 800 quad core processor. The tablet is also tipped to feature Android 4.2.2 and feature 2 GB of RAM. A larger screen tablet was also tipped featuring an 8.9-inch 2560 x 1600 resolution screen and a rear camera. The new leaked image today appears to be the lower end tablet.
