New iPods to be announced tomorrow?

Big news from the rumormill today points to an update to the iPod line that may be announced tomorrow.

The rumor suggests that the update will include a touchscreen iPod and that we will see the devices shipping in June around the same time as the iPhone. Arguments both for and against this rumor are easy to spot. “Why would Apple release a touchscreen iPod to steal thunder from the iPhone?” And “Since the touchscreen technology has been perfected for the iPhone, why hold off on releasing a touchscreen iPod?”

ThinkSecret lists their source as not being the most reliable, so if you’ve been waiting for an announcement like this, I wouldn’t hold your breath.
