Apple doesn’t pay for this kind of game. They don’t have to. The rumors on the blog sites and the photos of the actual launch etc will get them all the hype they need.

Who says they couldn’t. Perhaps they did and got one each to keep and one to sell and are now hoping to get 2 more each to sell as well as some free notoriety from all the blogs and comments. Someone might even be paying them for their time to sit there (as well as the cost of the units that they are buying). If they don’t have a job or are in school at the moment it is easy work for some cash and at least they aren’t out earning an ASBO each

I think it says so much about what’s wrong with society today that these losers can afford to spend FIVE DAYS sitting around waiting to buy a product that costs $500-800. These guys look 20-something, are mommy and daddy buying them iPads?

Even if I was interested in the new iPad, I’m sure not sitting on my ass FIVE DAYS to get one. It’s called ONLINE ORDERING kids, get over it. I guarantee there are thousands of ‘fanboys’ who will get one maybe 4 HOURS after these losers, delivered handily to the comfort of their own homes after they spent a whopping 3 minutes clicking buttons on the website.

They are a separate species – because they’re willing to queue for stuff like this, when a) they could order it on the internet and b) fair point regarding android comparison, I should have said HTC One X or Galaxy SIII (who gives a damn what OS, but these are probably the only two examples that people might generate any interest) – but the point remains that no one will queue for these BECAUSE THEY AREN’T FORCED TO in the name of annoying PR gimmicks.

Sure, it’s clever marketing, but marketing is nothing in the end without a truly great product.

If you don’t like Apple products, that’s fine – nobody’s forcing you to like them.

Also, no one queues for PRODUCTS that have Android or Windows in them because they don’t have to. If Microsoft used the same strategy as Apple, some of their fans would also queue in lines, wouldn’t they? That’s besides the point, anyway – you’re comparing software to hardware, that just makes you look really stupid.

So it’s not just Apple fans, stop trying to categorize them as if they were a different species – they’re not.

You wonder why they’re queuing? It’s probably the only time they actually venture outside and there’s clearly safety in numbers. There’s a few posters here sneering at them whilst proudly announcing their own wait times. I guess you guys have never read Pavlov’s theories on classical conditioning and stimuli have you? Apple releases a new product, and there you all are, drooling like poor pathetic dogs, desperate to fling your money at Apple for their new shiny toy.
