It looks those that want DX10 support on a budget are going to have a few more choices from Nvidia. The GPU maker has announced their GeForce 8600 and 8500 series for mid and low-range graphics.

Not a lot of information has been revealed about the upcoming cards. We do know that the 8600 cards are going to be G84-based, whereas the 8500 will be G86-based. We also know that the 8600 cards will be able to support HDMI outputs which will be great for playing games on your big-screen.

At this point, I think consumers would like to see Nvidia concentrate on getting drivers out so that they can actually play games on Windows Vista. Maybe they’ll have some solid drivers out by the time they release these cards next quarter.
