New Eden book collects video game worlds on paper

The beauty found in video games is ever-expanding, bringing fantastic, detailed worlds to our monitors and televisions. Thanks to three German design students, they could also be arriving on our bookshelves for casual perusal via the book New Eden, a classically-designed book featuring maps and details from the most popular modern games.

The book was designed by student designers Alexander Venus, Robin Soyka, and Christian Ernst, and among its most notable features is the wood covers, which are laser-engraved with an intricate design and the book's title "New Eden".

Says the designers, the video games featured in the book were "hand selected" for inclusion, and are joined by elegant quotes from relevant folks in the industry, a Table of Contents, maps from the games, and aggregations based on genre, of which eight are represented in the book.

Inside, readers will find content on The Last of Us, Battlefield 4, Dead Space, and more. It isn't clear at this point whether the book will be made available for purchase, or how funding for it might take place (crowdfunding campaign?) for a future release.
