Netflix's 'Beasts of No Nation' looks stunning in teaser trailer

Netflix announced a while ago that Cary Fukunaga's film "Beasts of No Nation" will be one of its originals, and we've known for a while who it will feature and the storyline. An actual look at the film, however, aside from thumbnails, have been absent until today. On its YouTube page, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for the film, revealing an emotional snippet of what is sure to be an emotional — and, as you'll in the trailer, violent — movie.

Beasts of No Nation is a movie revolving around child soldiers and the brutal reality they face. A young West African boy is forced into a mercenary fighters unit after a civil war destroys his family and his home. The film was written and directed by Cary Fukunaga, and stars Idris Elba as a warlord.

The movie, at least what we see in the trailer, looks absolutely stunning, and if it is indicative of the future quality we can expect from Netflix Original films, movie studios have a reason to be worried.

This is one of several original films Netflix has in the pipeline, the likes of which will begin launching on the service this upcoming October. Netflix's original movie ambitions and, in particular, its desire to simultaneously launch some in theaters and online at the same time, has earned it ample backlash from the entertainment industry.
