Netflix’s CEO is out of touch; saying that using DVDs is like driving
horse and buggy but is not providing the means to do otherwise.

Newest movies are ONLY available on DVDs-

Mostly no closed
captions/subtitles on streams where most DVDs have these included-

Some old people and others can’t handle technologies such as
streaming and must rely on DVDs-

Hastings should know about the business he is running before making decisions.

Anyone know of a competitor that provides streaming? I want to get away from Netflix but they seem to be a monopoly in this area.

You obviously don’t run a successful business. Because Netflix chose to ignore the people that fund them, it has now earned a bad rep and has lost almost 1 million customers. Try using your brain before you make a smug remark next time.

I am ready to get rid of netflix I am tired of paying money for nothing. they make people pay a separate streaming fee but don’t give you anything to watch… it is all crap and who wants ot pay a separate fee for 1 damn dvd per month I would rather go with block busters at least that way I can go to the store and get it instead of waiting for one the mail. I think Netflix should ax the dvds and stream all movies and tv shows for one fee per month.

That’s too bad. I love my Netflix account and I’m an avid Xbox gamer. I would have loved to be able to rent games from them, and I would even have considered paying more in fees if the selection of titles was good enough. Reconsider, Netflix. Game rentals is a great idea.

gamefly has a stranglehold on the market? That’s because they have little to no competition! If netflix offered the goods, gamefly would lose us as a customer immediately!

I’ve been a Netflix customer for 1 1/2 yrs now. Had both the mailing and streaming of movies.Just have streaming now. Went to Netflix site and all the movies I WOULD LIKE to see are ONLY ON DVD. So if Netflix’s idea that it just wants to stream in the future…………….it ain’t makin’ it! Granted I’ve watched a lot of streaming movies but I am realizing that Hollywood really put out a LOT of heavy duty crap! Very rapidly I am finding that there is little quality in the Netflix library. Others feel the same way. “Word travels”……………..and don’t forget that !

A few years ago this seemed like a no-brainer to me as they already have a solid dvd mailing infrastructure in place. Perhaps it is just too late, as future consoles will probably get their content mostly from playstation-network, xbox-live, etc, and begin phasing out the physical media…more profit for them anyway.
