Netflix survey finds majority of TV streamers binge watch

Netflix has announced the results of a survey that it had conducted on its behalf by Harris Interactive. The survey looked at nearly 1500 people in the US that are TV streamers. TV Streamers are defined as adults that stream TV shows at least once per week.

The survey found that binge watching is very widespread among this demographic. The survey found that 61% of respondents were binge watchers. Binge watching is defined as watching between two and six episodes of the same TV show in a single session. This is very common on Netflix think most of us have found a show that we missed out on for the first couple seasons and watched multiple episodes in a row trying to catch up in time for the new season.

I recently watched the first several seasons of Revolution this way. Netflix says that the binge watchers don't have any bad feelings about doing it either. The survey found that 73% of respondents feel positive about binge watching.

I think we have all watched a normal weekly show on TV at one point or another and wished we could just watch all the episodes at once. Netflix is allowing us to do that with past seasons of shows from network TV and Showtime among others. Netflix has also offered every episode of all its original shows at the same time since it began making its own programming.
