It was good news when Netflix streaming came to the Xbox 360. It was bad news when we learned that Xbox though it had the exclusive on Netflix streaming. It was good news again when Netflix used BD-Live to bring streaming to the PS3. The bad news was that Wii owners were left out.

Wii owners have some good news today with <a href="http://www.netflix.com/wiiNetflix and Nintendo announcing that this spring streaming service will be coming to the Wii console. Just like with other Netflix streaming devices, the Wii will be able to stream movies and TV shows over a broadband connection to the living room TV starting at $8.99 per month.

Netflix has to skirt the streaming exclusive with the Xbox 360 again for the Wii service. That means that users will need a Wii streaming disc to access the service rather than a baked in method via an update. The disc can be reserved for free now at the Netflix website.
