They “were” going to have 12 million subscribed to both at $9.99 per month ($119,880,000 per month) with 13 million OTHER people doing one or the other at roughly 7.99 a month ($103,870,000). Total of $223,750,000 per month for them.

Now they are going to have 12 million at $15.98 per month ($191,400,000) and 12 million more with one or the other, at $7.99 per month ($95,880,000) for a grand total of $287,280,000… what have we learned, Netflix is now making $63,530,000 more per month, with smaller server costs, and 800,000 less DVDs to ship via postal, giant savings, plus more earning, they are thrilled.  They aren’t okay with it, or sad about losing customers, or “maintaining that they made the right choice”, it’s obvious they made the right choice, more money, for less work, and a service people are still happy to pay for. Also, the backlash wasn’t significant, it was far less than they expected…
