netflix2Even though Netflix added a $1 to subscriber’s monthly payments if they wished to keep the ability to rent Blu-ray discs just a bit ago, they are now raising the price once again. In fact, this increase constitutes nearly a 20% hike.

Even though the price for renting standard disc rentals will remain the same, the Blu-ray hike is an extra $3 a month. If this is an outrage to you, however, you can disable your Blu-ray rentals and rent standard discs only. The new prices will be effective beginning on April 27.

So, why on earth is Netflix upping their prices? Supposedly, Blu-ray discs cost a lot more than standard discs, so they will be using the added revenue to add additional Blu-ray titles to their library.
