Netflix expands again, arrives in Belgium and Luxembourg

Netflix has been busy this week expanding its service to additional regions, some of which have been more hostile to its presence than others. Joining the list late in the week is Belgium and Luxembourg, making for six new locations in as many days and marking a fairly notable milestone.

By adding these six countries to its roster of serviced locations, Netflix has been opened up to 63 million potential new subscribers, based on the number of households in the regions with broadband Internet connectivity. As with elsewhere, curious consumers can get a month-long free trial.

This expansion brings a larger potential audience to the company's original series', as well, which is perhaps the most important part of the roll out. Orange is the New Black and Fargo, among others, are available to viewers in the newly-added regions.

Content from local regions will also be made available in each country, as with other areas where Netflix has rolled out. Netflix has squeaked in the promise of more content being added to the library "in the coming months," as well.
