Plus Honeywell has been around for almost a century and some of their mercury switch stats made in the 70s are still in use today somehow I can’t see this thing lasting as long , it is fundamentally over complicated for a temperature controlled switch therefore bad engineering , give me a Honeywell any day!

Erm actually there are a few models which are very similar in design and far better in functionality than this p.o.s. I should know as I am a heating engineer and wouldn’t touch this thing with a barge pole!

HA! If Honeywell had patents even remotely related to Nest’s designs they should have implemented them a long time ago. Technology advances and you cant rest on your laurels. Granted you need time for R&D but this seems to be a case of trying to squash the “new upstart competition” instead of actually competing on your product’s merits.
