NEC unveils new line of PCs in Japan

NEC is mostly known here in America for its line of LCDs and monitors for computer users and some other gear. The company isn't known in America for computers, but it offers several new computers in Japan that were just announced. The new line includes notebooks, netbooks, and all-in-one machines.

The LaVie L notebook uses an Intel Core i5 CPU and features USB 3.0 built-in. The machine has a numeric keypad built in and a cover that prevents fingerprints and smudges. NEC is also unveiling the LaVie Light netbook with a 1366 x 768 resolution screen and using the new Intel N450 processor. The line also has five colors available including red, green, white, black, and silver.

NEC unveils a new Valuestar N line of all-in-one machines that use Intel Core i5 processors and have very thin profiles of 9cm to about 6cm. The machines also feature Blu-ray and more on some versions. Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
