NEC tosses PA271W 27-inch LCD onto pro circuit

NEC is a purveyor of a wide range of displays for computers users that run the gamut from small green screens that sip power to massive screens designed for graphics pros with lots of color support and features. The latest offering from NEC called the PA271W falls into the latter category.

The screen measures 27-inches and has a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It uses a 10-bit p-IPS panel and has 14-bit programmable look up tabled allowing the reproduction of 1.07 billion colors from a pallet of 4.3 trillion. To get the high color support the user has to connect with 10-bit DisplayPort input.

The screen offers a contrast ratio of 1000:1, has up to 360 cd/m2 of brightness, and covers 92% of the NTSC color gamut. The standard version of the PA271W will ship this month for $1399 and a version offering SpectraViewII will be priced at $1649.
