NEC MultiSync PA322UHD-2 4k monitor supports DisplayPort and HDMI

NEC has announced a new computer monitor that has a big screen and supports 4k resolution. The monitor is called the PA322UHD-2 and it supports 4K UHD inputs. The connectivity options are what's special about this display; it has a switchable DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 option.

The connectivity options are part of the Open Pluggable Specifications (OPS) compliant option slot aimed at giving users flexibility to use the monitor in different workflow situations. The monitor uses wide gamut white LED backlighting.

The panel is an IGZO IPS-style LED promising good color reproduction and lower power use than other displays. The screen is able to deliver 99.2% coverage of Adobe RGB color space. The native resolution is 3840 x 2160 with 10-bit color support. Brightness is rated at 350 cd/m2 and the contrast ratio is 1000:1.

Multiple refresh rates are supported from 24Hz up to 120Hz. NEC integrates a USB 3.0 hub with two up and three downstream ports. There are two DisplayPort 1.2 inputs and the option of two DVI-D or four HDMI 1.4 inputs. The stand supports portrait and landscape modes and is height adjustable. Picture-in-picture mode and picture-by-picture modes can show up to four HD images on the screen at once. The monitor also has a pair of internal 2W speakers. The screen will ship this month for $2,999.
