NEC debuts new Mate AIO and VersaPro Ultralite notebook

NEC has unveiled a couple new computers in Japan including the Mate AIO and the VersaPro UltraLite notebook. The AIO Mate computer has a 19-inch LCD with Intel Core i5 processor inside that helps it to save 24% on power compared to previous models. The LCD of the AIO also has a sensor that turns itself off when the user steps away.

The machine also has a sensor that will detect when a different person sits at the computer and set the AIO's settings accordingly without having to log in and out manually. The machine is 76.4mm thick and has a keyboard that doesn't have to be plugged into the computer for connectivity.

The VersaPro UltraLite notebook has a 12.1-inch screen and has an Intel processor inside. The machine uses vPro technology with hardware level security to disable the machine if stolen. Other features include an ECO mode setting to save power. The machine is rugged enough to withstand 150kg of pressure without breaking and the keyboard is splash resistant. Pricing and availability are unknown.
