If you read the article, you would know that it has a much better color camera, capable of capturing HD video that hasn’t been activated yet. The pictures we’re seeing are being taken from the navigation camera.

it is simply amazing how shitty a camera on this rover is, with the billions spent, you can certainly know that the billions were used on the rocket and fuel, have you read the computer and OS the rover is using? but for a trip like this, the least you would expect is for it to have at least a camera from Canon or Nikon, a Mamiya would be much to ask for :P

It has a pair of stainless “rover balls” hanging of off the rear power plant.

Does Curiosity have a capability to sweep away dust from camera lenses or replace lens covers should a dust storm arise?

Does anyone know if Curiosity bears an image of the United States Flag or any symbol of the USA anywhere on the vehicle?
