True, or some serious capacitors. Anyways, i think they are running into some issues with the batteries by now, and i do not think they stay charged thru the mentioned winter. Actually, i think they never expected the rovers to last beyond a single winter. This because they thought the solar panels would by then be so covered that there would be no way to get a charge. But it seems there is enough wind on Mars to keep them cleared. or something.

Ok fine how about we try a little experiment. You take all the things that are possible due to NASA research out of your life. Check out this page because I don't have the time to educate you on the benefits NASA has afforded us over the years http://spinoff.nasa.gov/index.html. Your veteran friends might be happy to know artificial limbs are among these many innovations.

we are always going to have issues on earth. if we waited to solve all those problems we would still be riding horseback. when we go to space we all benefit from the knowledge as well as the technology. better water recycling from the ISS helps drought areas on the earth, solar powered fridges came from the space program. better firefighting nozzles that can put out the fire in less time, using less water and only need one firefighter to control came from rocket nozzle work. the spinoffs from space have helped and influenced your life in so many ways.
