You’re obviously one of those republican morons who want to completely cede scientific superiority to the Russians and the Chinese just so Uncle Sam can save a buck. You people will never understand all the benefits that the federal funding of such scientific projects has engendered.

NASA’s budget is a fraction of US GDP… u guys are lucky to fund such missions… here in india this is still a dream… though if we do go to mars, it will be at a fraction of the cost

obviously, you don’t understand the importance of NASA. Also you dont realize that many people have been laid off of NASA, such as my father and Grandfather. It isn’t over excessive pay to the scientists and workers at NASA, because they work very hard to ensure that there is not a single mistake in an extremely long, mind blowing equation because if there is it will cost over a billion dollars. Please don’t accuse anyone without substantial information to back up your criticism. What do I know, though. Im just a kid.

We simply can’t afford NASA. It needs to be privatized. Continuing to pay excessive salaries to NASA administrators, senior engineers and scientists is something we can no longer justify. And NASA’s subcontractor supply chain. Pirhanas.

I was fortunate enough to catch this launch live. For one reason or another I seem to miss most of them. It’s going to be a long 9 months waiting for it to reach Mars, but it was exciting to watch it go up. Interesting that NASA went with a nuclear power cell this time.
