Nanoantenna Skin to provide next-gen PC cooling

If you're looking for the next generation of PC cooling technology or consumer electronic recharging, you may only have to look so far as a group of researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory who have developed a flexible solar cell. This cell could be applied to all sorts of electronics to make recharging a snap and cooling devices a breeze.

These flexible cells contain nanoantennas that can absorb energy from light–but not just from the sun. Rather, the idea is you could place a cell phone, let's say, coated in the material on your desk for a few minutes to soak up light and you'd have a recharged device on your hands.

This new material could also work to cool computers in the future by means of pulling heat away from the device without expending additional energy.
